Category: Pinouts for Cables
From AllPinouts
A cable is composed by one or more electrical wires (or optical fibers) bound together, typically in a common protective jacket or sheath. The individual wires or fibers inside the jacket may be covered or insulated. Combination cables may contain both electrical wires and optical fibers.
An adapter or adaptor is a device used to match the physical or electrical characteristics of two different electrical circuits so that a connection may be made between them. An adapter may be very simple, connecting one kind of connector to another kind of connector, but not changing the electrical signals. Other adapters may include a device that changes (adapt) the electrical signals.
