The Secure Digital memory card is a memory specifically developed to meet security requirements which have appeared in the field of electronic audio and video devices. It includes a Copyright protection mechanism which complies with the SDMI standard (Secure Digital Music Initiative). The file protection and encryption system (CPRM: Content Protection for Recordable Media) is integrated into the SD card. The SD card's interface supports standard MMC card operations.
